Impossible/Arenas

Mission 01 · Laos · In development

The environment
is the venue.

Impossible Arenas takes world-class athletes into extraordinary places and turns the place into the arena. At a fixed time, the countdown reaches zero and everything goes live as one choreographed extreme-sports show.

The format

Athletes build it.
Then they ride it.

The athletes help design, build and test the systems they will perform on, without knowing the final location. Then we reveal where they are going.

  1. Stage 1
    Assemble

Athletes meet at Base Camp and work with the technical team.

  2. Stage 2
    Reveal

The location is revealed. The systems are adapted to it.

  3. Stage 3
    Build

Rigging goes in. Athletes train on the arena and the show is choreographed.

  4. Stage 4
    Perform

At a fixed time the countdown hits zero and the arena goes live.

Mission 01 · Tad Fane, Laos · “White Void”

One gorge.
Three world-first stunts.

Twin waterfalls drop into a jungle gorge. The whole gorge becomes the arena. We start with three stand-alone stunts, each built to travel on its own, then choreograph them into one gorge-wide show.

World-first target

BMX and MTB rope swing

A BMX and a mountain bike launch off a cliff ramp, tied to a harness and rope-swing system, for big air time and a record-scale swing arc across the gorge.

Jake Atkinson · BMX / MTB
World-first target

Kayak freefall

A kayak goes straight over the waterfall lip into freefall. A recovery system then swings it across the canyon.

Eric · Mick · Kayak
World-first target

Waterfall grind rail

A rail projects out over the waterfall mist, built for a skate or inline grind that aims to beat the existing record.

Dan Catch · Skate / inline

Beyond the first three

These are the opening acts. The same rigging supports a wider programme, choreographed with music, lighting, smoke and pyro:

  • Zipline and canyon swing across the gorge
  • Wingsuit finale flying down the middle of the arena
  • Mountain bike balanced on counterweights, riding straight across the canyon
  • One to ten stunts per visit, depending on the partners

Project 02 · Xe Bang Fai Cave, Laos · “No Sky”

Underground.
No sky. No limit.

A cave system with real scale, lit in a way no studio could build. Four underground stunts with world-first and record-breaking ambitions.

The Superman sequence

A Superman-style rope sequence through the cave, swinging rope to rope with the ropes on fire. The scale of the chamber and the lighting do the rest.

Xe Bang Fai and Tad Fane are both in Laos, so crew, equipment and production infrastructure can be shared. Each project keeps its own sponsors and its own content campaign, which brings the production cost of the second project down.

Beyond the stunts

Expeditions and series

One-off stunts open the door. The long-term idea is a multi-episode adventure format for a mass audience, built from the places and teams already in place.

Ten days · Laos to Vietnam

Subterranean border crossing

A historic underground crossing of the Laos–Vietnam border, led by explorer Mick over ten days, with room for partner-branded moments along the way.

Mekong · Unclimbed faces

Return to the Mekong

Athlete expeditions to hard-to-reach places along the river: unclimbed rock faces and kayaking routes few people have seen.

Ho Chi Minh Trail

Action sports for places that have never seen it

Taking athletes along the trail to meet local children who have never watched extreme sports, and filming what happens.

Live

Live shows and activations

The circuit team can drop into live exhibitions and brand activations in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

For brands

Not placement.
Participation.

We want a small number of partners from the beginning, whose products, technology or services genuinely help create the arena. They are part of the build, part of the content and part of the final execution.

1
Hero film

An eight-minute film of the build and the stunt, ready for platforms and networks.

10
Short films

Short-form cuts of the build, the athletes and the testing for social.

30s
Viral clips

Thirty-second clips of the moments that travel by themselves.

Use all of us. Or just the part you can’t do.

Bring your own brief and we execute it as a white-label service: creative from you, access, athletes, engineering and production from us. Mission 01 is also being developed as a three-part documentary series, and the right partners come with us into those conversations already part of the story.

  • Wearable tech and heart-rate monitoring on the athletes
  • Action and 360 cameras
  • Footwear and trainer brands for the grind rail
  • Tools and construction brands for the build content
  • Fintech and gaming brands drawn to risk and reward
We build the arena together.
